What’s happening at the Kellogg Conference Hotel

The breaklounge at the Kellogg Conference Hotel is hosting its first Wine and Chocolate tasting just in time for Valentine’s day. Join us on February 9th from 6PM to 8PM for a fun time featuring several of our best wines with:

Dionysus Baklava:
Creamy Greek honey combined with roasted walnuts and baklava spice dipped in chocolate and rolled in a blend of nuts and spice.

Aegean Pistachio:
Beautifully naturally vivid green Mediterranean pistachios ground to a fine paste and mixed into a white chocolate ganache, flavored with a hint of Tahitian vanilla and almonds.

Black Raspberry:
White chocolate ganache blended with locally grown preserved black raspberries and topped in a rich dark chocolate.

Dark Cacao Nib Ganache:
A chocolate lovers dream, this creamy, soft dark chocolate ganache is accented with a touch of cognac, enhancing that dark chocolate flavor. Enrobed in more dark chocolate, the top is then sprinkled with roasted cacao nibs adding a slight crunch and the essence of dark chocolate flavor.

Black Daphne Chocolate:
A soft, rich, dark chocolate ganache flavored with the famous Mavrodaphne wine from the Peleponnese in Greece. This rich, sweet wine, reminiscent of port, infuses the chocolate with flavors of dried fruit and cinnamon. Delicate yet full-bodied.

Pinot Noir infused Fleur de Sel Milk Chocolate Caramel:
A bit of creamy milk chocolate is mixed with our liquid caramel and amplified to a delicious intensity. The caramel is enrobed in smooth dark chocolate. Fleur de sel, infused with pinot noir adds a subtle, fruity taste and pretty pink color to the world’s best salt. The sea salt is sprinkled on the dark chocolate.

The Atlas District, One of Washington DC’s Hidden Treasures.

Most Washington DC visitors work through an ambitious checklist of national monuments and Smithsonian Museums. However, if they are willing to venture beyond the usual, they will find local treasures tucked away in neighborhoods left untouched by the tour by numbers crowd. One of the best examples is located in the city’s northeast quadrant behind Union Station. The Atlas District, formerly known as Swampoodlem stretches roughly 12 blocks along H Street NE. This area is undergoing a revival. New and hip restaurants, unique pubs, music clubs, cutting-edge galleries and stunning theater venues are appearing all over the neighborhood and ready to reward those who go the extra mile to reach them.
