Where did the summer go - Labor Day is upon us!!

Can you believe it?  It is the unofficial end of summer, the mass exodus has begun to the beaches across the United States.  Those who do not want to brave the traffic congestion to and from the beaches can enjoy Washington DC.  Here are a few things that might be of interest!!!

Friday, September 3

4:00pm - Cafe Atlantico is hosting its 3rd annual “Celebrate Rum”.  Free rum tasting from 4:00pm - 6:00pm…..Welcome all rum enthusiast.

6:00pm - Take in the DuPont Circle local art scene, participating neighborhood galleries stay open late and offer free wine and light bites…..DuPont Circle what a happening place to be!

Saturday, September 4

12:00n - 22nd annual DC Blues Festival from 7:00pm at Rock Creek Park’s Carter Barron Amphitheatre. Pack a picnic have some fun with friends and family….Music for the soul!

8:00pm - The Black Cat is celebrating its 17th anniversary with local bands including Wise Old Lions, the Guilt and Above the Silence…. Come out and support your local musicians.

12:00n - Glen Echo Park host its 40th annual Labor Day Art Show (Saturday - Monday, 12n - 6pm) features over 150 artists from the mid-Atlantic region….Weekend for art lovers.

8:00pm - Enjoy the free al fresco performance by the National Symphony Orchestra…..Free Symphony music, enjoy!

11:00am Cafe Saint Ex and Bar Pilar host their annual Labor Day Pig Roast benefiting the Fillmore Arts Center. Great tasting BBQ and BBQ sauce competition. Live bluegrass, arts and crafts for the kids and more…..Fun for the entire family.
